SaaS Optimization ROI
Definition
Measures the effectiveness of SaaS optimization efforts by comparing realized cost savings to the cost of implementing those actions. The formula quantifies the return generated from optimization activities such as license rightsizing, deprovisioning, tier adjustments or application rationalization. Higher ROI values indicate that optimization efforts are delivering proportionally greater financial benefit relative to their cost, while lower values may signal limited impact, poor prioritization or the need to adjust optimization approaches. This KPI was developed by the FinOps for SaaS Working Group .
